You do not have to be available for all of the camp sessions to apply! We have seen, though, that it is nice for newbies to serve at two camps so they have time to get acclimated to the culture + environment.

We aim to put together teams of faithful, humble, and flexible individuals who come to camp to glorify the Lord no matter what role they are asked to do. We have CdC’s needs at the forefront of our minds, and we ask that our volunteers do too.

This summer we are looking to fill the following roles:

Program Team

The Program Team is in charge of leading events and programming with the French counselors (known as “BAFA”) and other staff. This team is often the ideas, creativity, energy, and legs for getting things up and going – and then done.  As a member of this team, you will be asked to plan and execute day-to-day activities, to boldly lead and humbly follow. As such, flexibility, willingness, and being a team player are highly valued traits for Program Team members.

Program team members may additionally serve as a workshop leader, on the worship team, on the production team, on the recreational team, or as a videographer or photographer (depending on skill and/or interest – see below for elaborated descriptions of these Program Team roles).

Most importantly, the Program Team’s purpose is to build relationships with campers and support the BAFA as they perform their own tasks and responsibilities.

Recreational Team

Ever play Pétanque, tie two hundred water balloons, or “ice skate” on a volleyball court? Like organizing team and individual games? Join fellow sports-lovers and plan amusing activities that’ll make campers and counselors sweat… or just laugh together each day!

Production

Savvy with cords, computers, projectors, sound systems, and trouble-shooting? This is a major behind-the-scenes role that keeps us dancing during night events and singing during worship. Timeliness and attention to detail are highly valued traits in our production team member.

Media Team

Is story-boarding, capturing meaningful moments, and finding the right song for that scene your jam? Do you have the gift of capturing sweet memories by camera? Media team is responsible for capturing the very essence of Camp des Cimes digitally so that everyone can remember our time together when they go home! Additionally, the media role includes helping with the short videos and picture slideshows we present throughout the camp sessions.

Artistic Workshop Leader

Have a talent for fine arts? Workshops are a sweet place for campers to learn something new or get better at something they already love. It’s a place to curate self-expression, create, work toward a goal, and invest in a small group of campers – two hours every day.

Worship Team

Do you have a heart for leading others into His presence? Praying bold prayers? Leading worship at CdC is a joy and, at the same time, a challenge. If you’re interested in leading, bringing a team, or simply sharing your talents where there is need – we’d love to chat more with you!

Other notes about Program Team…

Something unique about Camp des Cimes is that there is no division between being in program and living life alongside campers. The Program Team is also responsible for being a consistent presence with campers. If you are placed on the program team and you do not have a spelled out role such as workshop leading or videography, your primary role is to intentionally invest in campers – making sure they are seen, loved and poured into – particularly as other Program Team members may be pulled from activities to plan. You will likely play games on the terrace, come up with a team cheer for your sports team, show off your best dance moves, and even feel clueless about what’s being said around you in French. As such, kindness, enthusiasm, and patience are highly valued traits for these Program Team members.

Please do not be shy about your gifts, abilities and passions! Again, we are flexible… if you have the capacity to serve in multiple areas and it’s what’s best for camp, we will do our best to make it happen.*

Service Team

Camp des Cimes runs like a well-oiled machine, thanks to the hospitable, hardworking, and friendly Service Team. The Service Team is composed of seven to ten people who do the behind-the-scenes work of Camp. In addition to cleaning bathrooms, serving meals, and switching loads of laundry, the Service Team prays over campers and has the opportunity to grow as a close-knit team throughout the course of the camp session. Service Team duties conflict with those of the Program Team, so Service Team members do not attend all of the regular activities of the camp. Because of this, the Service Team has chances to have game nights during the camp night events, go on afternoon hikes, or take trips into town to hang and bond as a team. Service Team members go out of their ways to make connections with campers and share the Gospel through smiles, consistency, and authenticity!*

Kitchen Team

Are you energized by working in a fast-paced environment? Washing, chopping, and cooking veggies for delicious and fresh salads? Slicing endless amounts of baguettes? Baking delicious desserts for a dining room full of people? The kitchen might be a good fit for you to serve at CdC. We are looking for people to help our head cooks for all five of our summer sessions.

*A note about Family Camp:
Family camp program team members must be able to speak French. Their primary role is to lead the kids programming while the adults are in morning message times. Family camp service team members are usually English speakers who work hard behind the scenes to serve meals and clean camp for the family campers. Because of the more relaxed nature of family camps, program and service teams are invited to participate in the activities with families when their primary duties are complete.

This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. – John 15:8
